At Prime Label KC, we understand that every business has unique labeling needs. Below are answers to common questions about our custom label printing services, materials, turnaround times, and more.
What is your lead time?
Approximately three weeks after final art and/or die line approval. Reorders for existing labels can be shipped sooner if needed.
How many colors can you print?
What is your minimum order?
Our minimum initial order charge is $300. Please contact us with more details if you are interested in finding out more.
Can you match my sample?
No problem! Send us a sample of the label you need us to match and we will figure out a like-type material and adhesive. We can even assist in recreating the artwork files if you do not have those available.
How much are printing plates?
If plates are required a one-time charge between $50-75 per plate is required. If you are looking at variable data, multiple copies, or a shorter run (< 5,000), ask us about our digital printing capabilities.
What types of labels do you produce?
We specialize in pressure sensitive labels, custom printed prime labels, and digitally printed labels.
Can you print small quantities or short runs?
Yes, our digital prime label presses are ideal for short runs with fast turnaround times.
What materials and finishes do you offer?
We provide paper, film, and vinyl materials with gloss, matte, or foil finishes.
Can you manage my label inventory?
Yes. Prime Label KC offers an inventory management program to track your stock.
What industries do you serve?
We serve food, beverage, health and beauty, cannabis and CBD, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and industrial markets.
What label sizes and shapes are available?
Every size and every shape! We have the capabilities to customize every label to meet your specific requirements. Being in business for 30 years has afforded Prime Label with quite an accumulation of various die sizes.
What are artwork requirements?
The preferred file format is Adobe Illustrator, editable PDF or Encapsulated Postscript (EPS). Please save your files with CMYK or spot PMS colors at 300 pdi resolution. All copy in your artwork must be outlined, or PC compatible fonts need to be submitted with your files. Please provide any linked files separate from the art file. If you do not have artwork on hand our graphic artist is happy to assist you in creating custom artwork.
What are pressure sensitive labels?
Pressure sensitive labels are self-adhesive labels that stick to surfaces when light pressure is applied.
Do you offer design services for labels?
Absolutely. Prime Label KC offers in-house custom label design services.
What’s your typical turnaround time?
Most custom label printing projects are completed within 7–10 business days after artwork approval.
Do you provide blank labels?
Yes. We manufacture blank labels in both roll and sheet formats.
How do I request a quote?
You can request a quote through our website or by contacting our sales team at orders@primelabelkc.com or 816-318-1800.
How do I know what rewind direction I should request?
For hand application, this is not as important. If you are applying your labels with a machine application, the rewind direction is required as part of the order.
